Robert Durazo-IVEMSA Director of Business Development

Roberto Durazo has joined the ranks of the near-shore manufacturing firm, Ivemsa.  Durazo steps into the company with extensive experience in economic development, project management, and manufacturing with a focus on assisting international companies looking into Baja California as a manufacturing location.

Durazo is eager to put his expertise to work with Ivemsa and says, “I am grateful to join a company with such integrity.  Ivemsa has a reputation of transparency with their clients, they are known within the industry to be honest, hard working, and truly have customer satisfaction at the core of what they do.  Those are the values that cement a company’s longevity and success, and those are the values of Ivemsa.”

Since earning his MBA in Finance, Durazo has put it to good use as Executive Director and Project Manager of both the Ensenada and Mexicali
Economic Development Commissions, respectively.  Durazo also has personal experience with the start up of a  manufacturing and distribution facility in Mexicali.  In 2010 he served as the Operations and Business Manager of Pleatco Mexicana, where he recruited, hired and trained staff while overseeing the administration of finance, budget, and expense forecasting.  Most recently he was Director of Investment Promotion for the State of Baja California.

With Durazo’s recent years of focus on identifying and attracting foreign companies looking to the near-shore for manufacturing opportunities, the position with Ivemsa is a perfect match.  “We are confident that Roberto’s expertise in development with FDI (Foreign Direct Investment) is a valuable incentive for our clients as his knowledge facilitates an ease in the process for companies looking to Mexico as a manufacturing home,” explained Ivemsa’s vice president of operations, Alfredo Garcia.

Headquartered in Mexicali, Ivemsa has been working with clients helping to set up full shelter companies, stand-alone entities and selected back office services including human resources, customs, and accounting since 1982.
