The Year in Retrospect

As the year 2013 comes to a close, we look back on many changes that affected the manufacturing and service operations of foreign companies in Mexico:

Increased economic advantages against offshore manufacturing costs in areas such as China and India.

Increased global confidence in Mexico as a manufacturing and service provider destination that has resulted in unprecedented growth in the industry.

The signing of additional free-trade agreements and the forward movement of the Trans Pacific Partnership (TPP).

A fiscal reform whose final outcome is still in the works, but is aimed at bringing the Mexican economy into line with other global leaders, while leaving operational benefits for the international industry attractive and competitive.

Focused enhancements to the supply chain so necessary for efficient and cost effective manufacturing.

A continually growing middle class that has resulted in a well educated young labor pool.

And those are just a few the bold changes that reflect Mexico’s commitment to securing its place in the global market, making it a productive, and beneficial partner for international business. The result is a Mexico with a solid foundation, a history of positive relations and commitment to free-trade, and continual improvement that makes the country the best choice for near and offshore manufacturing in 2014 and beyond.
